Don't be shy about plastic free July

Plastic Free July is on now and the good news is you don’t have to give up every single piece of plastic in your life to get involved. Plastic Free July is a movement that was started in 2017 to raise awareness about the environmental impacts of plastic pollution.

What can you do as an individual to get involved?

Firstly, you don’t need to go into your house, throw away every single piece of plastic and replace it with plastic free alternatives (if you did do that then bravo!) Since it doesn't have to be that extreme. Yes, it is a challenge but for many it's a challenge to remember the reusable bags.

It’s more focused on the little things like taking your own produce bags to the grocery store, taking a reusable cup to the café and using metal straws instead of plastic straws. Since those little efforts to curb plastic use will brush off on people around you. At Cheeki we’re all about leading by example.

Some other ways to contribute would be taking the time and picking up rubbish in your local area or visit www.plasticfreejuly.org.au to see what events are happening near you.

So, the point is we want as many people out there to get involved but we don’t want to scare anyone into thinking that you have to change your whole life around. No matter how small or large your impact we’d love to see it. Use the hashtag #refillreuse.
